Invitation as Member of Malaysian Structural Steel Association 

The Malaysian Structural Steel Association (MSSA) was incorporated in March 1996 with the objective to develop and promote the use of structural steel in Malaysia.

MSSA, a non-profit organization, is made up of leading individuals and companies in the Structural Steel construction and Oil and Gas industries. Our members, who are from both the Public and Private sectors, share a common vision to establish Structural Steel as the material of choice for the Construction industry in Malaysia. In supporting of this vision, the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) has been a strong supporter of MSSA’s activities since 2012. Concurrently, MSSA is also seeking to be appointed by the Kementerian Sumber Malaysia (Ministry of Human Resources) as the Industry Lead Body (ILB) for the Structural Steel industry.

MSSA would like to invite your organisation or Individuals to join as Member of the MSSA. We believe that, with the collaboration of MSSA and other leading individuals and companies, the following objectives can be met.

• To promote and advance further the use of structural steel in construction and the oil and gas industries
• To promote new and appropriate use of technology, training, research and develop standardisation of the science and practice of engineering and management in the structural steel industry through training courses and talks
• To encourage the dissemination of information and exchanging of views on the structural steel industry on both national and international platforms
• To operate as an advisory body providing advice and information with the objective of enhancing the structural steel industry.

1. Honorary Membership 

A person distinguished in public life or by service to the Association.

2. Ordinary Membership   

Any Malaysian who is above the age of 18 years and possesses a tertiary qualification of holds a position of responsibility in an organisation acceptable to the Council for ordinary membership, and who is involved in the structural steel construction industry.

3. Institutional Membership   

A legally constituted professional institution, association, firm, company or organisation or any other similar body whose activities include or concern the structural steel construction industry.

4. Associate Membership   

A person who is keenly interested in the structural steel construction industry but is not eligible for election to any other classes of membership.

5. Student Membership   

A registered student from an approved tertiary education institution or body who is studying in any field related to the structural steel construction industry.
